 We’re not using your kisses, likes, interests and follows to profile you (because ew).

 UrMask is funded by those who can afford to support it through our Patreon, memberships, merchandice etc. and forever free for everybody else — contrary to websites like Facebook and Twitter where you pay with your phone number, IP address and other intimate information which may then be shared with unnamed third parties. We also don’t know anything about you when you support UrMask (unless you specifically choose to tell us) — no matter how you support the platform.       

 We can’t use your camera.

 We can’t use your microphone.

 We’re terribly sorry, but we also can’t offer you all those gazillion cookies you are served on Twitter, Facebook and the other BOMS. By using UrMask, you accept that we’re only using cookies that are absolutely necessary to run the site (like remembering your password so you don’t have to). 

 Email communication between you and UrMask is always safe as we’re using Protonmail for all our domains, services and companies associated with UrMask, including but not limited to UR.today, ur.gold, RosesPonyClub.com, MaskedOrNude.com, BroadwayOnBlockchain.com and FixBroadway.com.

 Unlike on some BOMS, VPN users are not prevented from uploading Avatars and Header images.

 You can register using any temporary email address, except if you want us to Verify your account, you have to ask us to do so from your official email address because that’s the least invasive method we could think of. Alternatively, you can also Verify by posting a public message to UrMask from your official accounts on legacy social media.

Why is all this so important for your life?

Because if your phone number and other personal data are leaked, you may lose everything you own. Including your reputation: 

In 2019, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s account, for instance, posted a lot of racial slurs and anti-semitic messages.

Because “the phone number associated with the account was compromised.” 

The same year, Facebook leaked half a billion phone numbers, full names, locations and birth days.

Next year, Jack Dorsey again had to apologize again for the latest hack of his website. This time, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates were among his victims:

When we told Rose about it, she started to cry: 

“If all these super nice and wildly intelligent billionaires who I also think have very long educations and know all kinds of long and very difficult words had all these years to protect their phones and they can’t do it, what are WE going to do? I mean, is there any way NOT to know all these things about people? Or is there some kind of law that says we have to know everybody's secrets?”

We looked into this and we couldn’t find any such law — so we decided not to spy on people (though it does make us feel a bit unprofessional and silly).
